Seeking

For the past year, it seems that my husband and I have been seeking the best place to make an impact, where to serve, where or what are we called to do or be. These are big questions. In fact, they are too big for us. That's why we have been and continue to pray about it. We may be seeing glimpses and that is exciting.

Since our little Peanut has been sick for 4 weeks now... We have missed several Sunday and have been watching sermons online fro mour old church when we lived in a different city. So, does that mean we're cheating? On our new church? :-) With that said, we really miss our old church, but we do not feel called to live in that city... otherwise, we'd be going there in a heartbeat. So, this is a little off track, but I'm going somewhere with this - really.

We watched a sermon from our old pastor and 2 weeks in a row, it has been exactly what we needed to hear. You know how that goes... Neeedless to say, this past Sunday's sermon was "Serving God Knows Who," and friends, it was awesome.

So I thought I would share...

How do you know where or who you should be serving...
Ask yourself:
1. What is the talent or thing that God designed me to love or do?
2. What is the place or setting that God created to attract me the most?
3. How does that contribute to the world?

If you want back up on the answer you arrive at... Frederick Buechner has a little something to help you out.

1. What do I need to do most in the world?
2. What does the world need me to do the most?

So... we may not be ready to share the answers we came up with, but we do feel as though we are moving in a direction and we have peace about it. Don't worry though. We'll keep praying and seeking God's guidance and continued peace.

What questions have you been asking yourself lately?
