Good News Bad News

Doctor: Well, let's get a look at these ears. Mom, let's see if we can do it with him sitting in your lap.

Peanut kicking and screaming: WAHHHHHHHHHH!

Doctor: Well, I guess we aren't going to be able to do it the civilized way. You'll have to put him up here on the table and help hold him down.

Action: The doctor then proceeds to get wax out of the PEanuts ears. He keeps pulling more out. IT was impressive folks. Then he finally looked inside Peanut's ears.

Doctor: Well, his ears look good. The infection is pretty much gone.

Me/Mom: Well, that's good. Why does he seem to be so miserable?

Doctor: Well, it could be a few things. We'll have to do a heel prick and see what we find.

Nurse comes in and does toe prick. Peanut screams.

Doctor comes back in about 10 minutes later.

Doctor: Well, his ear infection is gone, but now he has a virus.

I looked at Peanut who was miserable and comforting himself by drinking some mommy milk and my heart melted all over again. Poor baby! So the good news is no more ear ache and the bad news... well, hello virus.
